About the National Programme and Policy Officer Position at WFP Tanzania

As a selected candidate you will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and you will report directly to the Head of Programme.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Overseeing disaster risk reduction initiatives, refugee operations and government activities in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.
Collaborating with field offices in Zanzibar, Dodoma and Arusha in supporting national policy initiatives.
Coordinating with government agencies and other organizations such as the UN organizations in the implementation of social protection programs.
Strengthening linkages between social protection and anticipatory action programs
Managing donor relations and ensuring they are submitting reports as required

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Economics, Disaster Risk Management, Social Protection,
Environmental Sciences or Community Development.
Candidates with 8-10 years of relevant working experience
Proven experience in managing teams and projects.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government and other stakeholders such as UN agencies and NGOs.
Fluent in Both English and Kiswahili Language
