About the National Programme and Policy Officer Position at WFP Tanzania
As a selected candidate you will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and you will report directly to the Head of Programme.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing disaster risk reduction initiatives, refugee operations and government activities in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.
- Collaborating with field offices in Zanzibar, Dodoma and Arusha in supporting national policy initiatives.
- Coordinating with government agencies and other organizations such as the UN organizations in the implementation of social protection programs.
- Strengthening linkages between social protection and anticipatory action programs
- Managing donor relations and ensuring they are submitting reports as required
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Economics, Disaster Risk Management, Social Protection,
- Environmental Sciences or Community Development.
- Candidates with 8-10 years of relevant working experience
- Proven experience in managing teams and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government and other stakeholders such as UN agencies and NGOs.
- Fluent in Both English and Kiswahili Language
