Job Overview

Coca Cola Kwanza Ltd is seeking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Controller to join their Manufacturing Department in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  This position requires a candidate who is highly motivated and with strong background in asset care, plant reliability and team leadership.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Asset Care and Maintenance

• As sellected candidate at Coca Cola you will be required to contribute to the development of asset care plans for Utilities equipment.
• Identifying training needs for the Utilities team while ensuring they are addressed.
• Integrating asset care goals into the team and individual performance targets.
• Implementing Predictive Maintenance Strategies including Condition Monitoring programs.
• Participating in Supplier Partnering Program 
• Ensuring you are in compliance with asset care audits and budgetary control over spare parts and maintenance requirements.

2. Plant Reliability and Efficiency

• Ensuring reliability and uptime of Utilities equipment.
• Overseeing maintenance execution, including scheduled and extended maintenance work.
• Leading and supporting shift based production teams in asset care and engineering support.
• Driving of performance improvement initiatives including predictive maintenance techniques.
• Ensuring the availability of spare parts and special tools so as to support the asset management program.
• Optimizing water and energy usage across the site.
• Developing and managing maintenance cost plans and CAPEX.

3. Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement

• Evaluating the impact of new plant and equipment that recommend improvements.
• Investigating and addressing root causes of recurring failures.
• Supporting production teams in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
• Integrating continuous improvement strategies into team performance goals.

4. Team Leadership and Development

• Leading Technicians team by  fostering ownership, empowerment, and collaboration.
• Setting clear team goals and conducting regular performance reviews.
• Identifying training needs while developing skill enhancement plans.
• Ensuring of multi skilled workforce within Coca Cola Packaging department.
• Managing outsourced maintenance services by ensuring compliance with contracts

5. Safety and Compliance

• Ensuring adherence to the safety, health and environmental standards.
• Driving compliance with NOSA safety requirements.
• Conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Promoting clean and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience at Coca Cola 

• Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: At least five years of working experience in maintenance of packaging machines.
• Necessary Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Safety, Health and Environmental regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
