We are currently looking for a Compliance Manager to join our team in Tanzania. This role is critical in ensuring that PalmPay adheres to all regulatory requirements while maintaining industry best practices. Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure PalmPay complies with all legal and industry standards.
Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to various departments within the organization.
Work closely with legal and regulatory affairs teams to resolve compliance issues and offer guidance on regulatory matters.

Policy Development & Implementation

Develop, review, and update compliance policies to align with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
Implement policies across the organization and ensure employees fully understand and adhere to compliance requirements.
Conduct regular training sessions to educate staff on compliance protocols.

Risk Assessment & Management

Perform routine risk assessments to identify and evaluate compliance risks.
Develop and execute strategies to mitigate identified risks while ensuring effective control mechanisms.
Collaborate with internal departments to integrate compliance considerations into daily operations.

Monitoring & Reporting

Establish and maintain a structured system for monitoring compliance activities.
Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
Ensure the effectiveness of internal reporting mechanisms to promptly address potential compliance breaches.

Investigations & Remediation

Lead or participate in compliance investigations and implement corrective actions as needed.
Develop remediation plans to address any identified compliance gaps.
Work closely with internal audit teams to enhance compliance controls.

Communication & Training

Promote a strong compliance culture within the organization through effective communication and awareness programs.
Serve as a key point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from employees, regulators, and external stakeholders.
Provide guidance and support to ensure compliance best practices are followed across all departments.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Mathematics, Law (LLB), Science, or a related field.
Minimum 6+ years of experience in a compliance role within the financial services sector.
Strong understanding of Tanzania’s financial regulations and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs are a plus.
Previous experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred.
