Job Overview

Fastlink Safaris is seeking a customer-oriented Check-In Agent to join our team in Iringa. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless check-in process for passengers at the airport. Your primary duties will include verifying travel documents, issuing boarding passes, assisting with baggage handling, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome passengers warmly and provide efficient customer service.
  • Verify travel documents, including passports, visas, and tickets, ensuring compliance with airline and immigration policies.
  • Issue boarding passes and baggage tags while ensuring baggage policies are followed.
  • Assist passengers with seat selection, special requests, and possible upgrades.
  • Provide accurate information regarding flight schedules, gate changes, and delays.
  • Address passenger inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
  • Work closely with security, customs, and immigration personnel when required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to airline regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Assist passengers requiring special support, such as those with disabilities or unaccompanied minors.
  • Collaborate with airport staff and airline teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Diploma or equivalent (a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is an advantage).

Language Skills:

  • Proficiency in English is preferred; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or airline operations is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Multilingual skills are an added advantage.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with airline check-in systems.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
