Branch Manager – Mwanza | Exim Bank (March 2025)

Job Overview

Exim Bank is looking for a Branch Manager in Mwanza to lead retail and SME banking operations. In this role, you will drive financial growth through a world-class sales and service management system while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines set by the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) and financial institutions. You will also work closely with the Central Operations Unit to maintain smooth branch operations while delivering excellent service to corporate and individual clients.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Customer Relationship Management

• Identify client needs and develop effective banking solutions.
• Drive business growth by increasing CASA (Current Account Savings Account) deposits and fee-based income.
• Acquire new customers while strengthening relationships with existing ones.
• Understand customer preferences and market trends to enhance profitability.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure a seamless banking experience.
• Participate in community engagement initiatives to boost brand visibility and attract new business.

Branch Operations & Compliance

• Ensure the branch operates efficiently, following internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee branch compliance, financial security, and operational risk management.
• Maintain accurate transaction records, including interbank transactions.
• Monitor branch control procedures to safeguard financial assets.
• Work with teams across different branches to resolve complex customer issues.
• Supervise and maintain integrated banking systems for optimal performance.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and motivate the branch team to achieve business targets.
• Provide coaching and guidance to staff, fostering a strong service culture.
• Ensure high employee productivity and operational efficiency.
• Prepare periodic and statutory reports for senior management.
• Step in for the MCSOP/Ops Manager when needed, as directed by the Cluster Head.
