About YouLead
YouLead is a collaborative initiative between MS-Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS TCDC) and the East African Community Secretariat. This dynamic leadership program is dedicated to empowering Africa’s young leaders by fostering connections, collaboration, and sustainable impact.
Since its inception in 2017, YouLead has grown into a fully structured program under MS TCDC’s Leadership and Governance Academy (LGA). To strengthen its sustainability and engagement, we are seeking a Partnership and Fundraising Coordinator to drive partnerships and resource mobilization.
Role Overview
The Partnership and Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for strengthening relationships with existing and potential partners while securing funding opportunities to support YouLead’s initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic thinker with experience in partnership management, donor engagement, and resource mobilization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Partnership Engagement & Management
- Build and maintain relationships with regional and international partners, including government agencies, NGOs, private sector entities, and donors.
- Develop and implement a partnership engagement strategy to foster collaboration and long-term support.
- Maintain an updated partner database with key contacts, engagement history, and partnership status.
- Organize partner meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking opportunities to enhance engagement.
- Identify collaborative opportunities for joint initiatives that align with YouLead’s mission.
2. Fundraising & Resource Mobilization
- Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and donations.
- Develop and submit grant proposals and fundraising campaigns to secure financial support.
- Cultivate relationships with donors, ensuring regular updates on project impact and financial accountability.
- Implement innovative fundraising strategies, such as crowdfunding, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement events.
- Track fundraising progress using a monitoring and reporting matrix.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop compelling fundraising materials (brochures, reports, online campaigns).
3. Administrative & Program Support
- Assist the YouLead Program Manager and LGA with key program activities.
- Support planning and execution of YouLead events, conferences, and workshops, ensuring smooth partner and donor engagement.
- Provide regular reports on partnership and fundraising activities.
- Ensure compliance with donor funding guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Work with the finance and administration teams to ensure proper documentation of funds and grants.

Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, partnership management, and donor relations.
- Proven success in grant writing, proposal development, and resource mobilization.
- Experience working with regional and international partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and corporate stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of the funding landscape, donor trends, and innovative fundraising models.
