Comprehensive Community-Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is dedicated to being Africa’s leading provider of specialized, accessible healthcare services. As a healthcare social enterprise, we serve communities—especially the most vulnerable—through various development programs. Our mission includes preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, and we are actively engaged in maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC), including obstetric fistula repair. Since 2005, CCBRT has also been offering both community and center-based rehabilitation services at the “House of Hope” in Moshi, fostering inclusive development at all levels.

We are Hiring: Enthusiastic Wheelchair Technician

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Wheelchair Technician to support our seating clinic team in providing high-quality wheelchairs and assistive devices to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, produce, and customize wheelchairs and other assistive devices according to required specifications.
  • Assist clinicians in the seating team during patient assessments and device fittings.
  • Transport clients, equipment, and supplies between the seating unit and workshop as needed.
  • Ensure each wheelchair and all modifications are technically safe before final fitting and before the user leaves with the equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain a clean, safe work environment for both staff and clients.
  • Ensure all tools are in place and in good working condition.
  • Participate in outreach activities as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Form 4 certificate with training in basic wheelchair services from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in wheelchair support.
  • A certificate in welding is an added advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Swahili and English.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to work.
  • Basic computer skills.
