Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd, a leading beverage manufacturer in Tanzania, is offering an exciting opportunity in the Manufacturing Department. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Manager – Packaging to join our team in Dar es Salaam. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, leadership, and quality management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and communicate an annual business plan to align with Coca-Cola Beverages Africa’s (CCBA) strategic objectives.
  • Plan and execute production schedules, quality control strategies, raw material usage, and team development initiatives.
  • Ensure that business operations support world-class manufacturing principles.

2. Performance Management

  • Set and align performance goals with the team to achieve optimal efficiency.
  • Define key performance metrics such as line utilization, raw material efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide necessary support to meet targets.

3. World-Class Manufacturing (WCM) Implementation

  • Lead change management initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement best practices in manufacturing through benchmarking and assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to WCM principles for enhanced operational efficiency.

4. Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and support team leaders and production teams to meet manufacturing, maintenance, and quality objectives.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship to enhance team performance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, trust, and respect among team members.

5. Cost & Budget Control

  • Develop and manage expense and capital budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to optimize resource allocation.
  • Align budget planning with business goals and financial guidelines.

6. Process Optimization & Problem-Solving

  • Identify and resolve systemic production challenges to enhance productivity.
  • Implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimize risks, and eliminate losses.
  • Empower team members to take an active role in problem-solving and decision-making.

7. Change Management & Innovation

  • Drive and support new initiatives that align with company objectives.
  • Communicate change processes effectively to ensure team buy-in.
  • Measure the impact of change interventions and provide regular feedback to the team.

Qualifications & Experience

🎓 Educational Background:
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

💼 Professional Experience:
✔ 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or packaging in an FMCG environment.
✔ Proven leadership experience in a high-performance production setting.

💡 Key Skills:
✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
