Technical Operations Country Lead – Tanzania
Jaza Tech is seeking a Technical Operations Country Lead to oversee and enhance our operations in Tanzania. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance of our energy hubs/shops. The ideal candidate will take a strategic approach to managing technical operations, developing teams, ensuring compliance, and resolving technical issues.
As the Technical Operations Country Lead, you will be responsible for achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with our mission of delivering clean, affordable energy solutions to underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
Process Compliance and Optimization
- Ensure all technical operations adhere to established processes and standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline operational procedures for greater efficiency.
Fleet Health and System Performance
- Monitor system performance to maintain optimal functionality.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Issue Resolution and Escalation
- Serve as the primary contact for resolving daily technical challenges.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior management and the engineering team for further action.
Country-Level Reporting
- Gather, analyze, and present operational performance data to key stakeholders.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve overall efficiency.
Recruitment and Training
- Lead the hiring process for technical staff in Tanzania.
- Develop and execute training programs to enhance the team’s technical skills and expertise.
Project Management
- Plan, implement, and oversee technical projects, supporting the expansion and maintenance of energy hubs/shops.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet required technical standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing large-scale engineering projects.
- Strong expertise in supply chain operations and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of the solar energy market, industry trends, and future developments.
- Proven ability to drive innovation and successfully implement change.
- Excellent management and organizational skills.
