About the Role

As the Talent Acquisition Lead, you will play a critical role in identifying, attracting, and retaining top talent to drive Airtel Tanzania’s success. You will develop strategic recruitment plans, manage hiring processes, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new hires.

This role is ideal for a talent acquisition expert who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building a strong workforce.


Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Sourcing & Recruitment Strategy

  • Develop efficient recruitment strategies to attract top talent for critical roles.
  • Identify internal and external recruitment channels to ensure quick and effective hiring.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies and vendors to meet hiring needs.

2. Cost Optimization in Recruitment

  • Ensure cost-effective hiring by selecting the most efficient recruitment channels.
  • Oversee and maximize the use of recruitment portals for streamlined hiring processes.

3. Employer Branding & Market Positioning

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to enhance Airtel’s employer brand.
  • Build strong relationships with universities, professional institutions, and placement agencies to position Airtel as an employer of choice.

4. Onboarding & Employee Integration

  • Lead the implementation of a world-class onboarding program to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Improve employee retention by fostering engagement from day one.

5. Outsourcing Management

  • Ensure all outsourced roles are filled in a timely manner.
  • Manage onboarding and integration of outsourced employees.
  • Maintain effective relationships with outsourcing service providers to meet service level agreements (SLAs).

6. Succession Planning & Talent Development

  • Build a top talent database for key operational and leadership roles.
  • Support succession planning initiatives to ensure business continuity.

7. Background Verification & Compliance

  • Ensure that all new hires undergo comprehensive background verification checks.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external background verification vendors.

8. Policy & Process Management

  • Ensure talent acquisition policies are up to date and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Monitor compliance with employment laws and regulations.

9. Employee Records Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee documentation.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping and data management.

10. Additional Responsibilities

  • Support other HR functions as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
✔ A Master’s degree in Business or Human Resources Management is preferred.
✔ Professional certifications such as CIPD, SHRM are an added advantage.

Experience & Skills

6+ years of recruitment experience, preferably in a high-volume hiring environment.
✔ Experience managing outsourcing services and vendor relationships.
✔ Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor legislation, and best practices in talent management.
✔ Expertise in developing and executing recruitment strategies.
✔ Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
Business and financial acumen to align talent acquisition strategies with company goals.
