Specialist – Digital Channels Systems at CRDB Bank (March 2025)

Job Overview
CRDB Bank is seeking a skilled and experienced Specialist – Digital Channels Systems to manage and support self-service and digital banking systems. This role involves system administration, monitoring, integration, and providing first and second-level technical support.
You will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the bank’s digital channels, including ATMs, POS systems, and integrations with local, regional, and international payment networks (Visa, MasterCard, CUP, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
1. System Administration & Technical Support
- Provide technical support and monitoring for digital channel systems, including after-hours on-call support.
- Assist end users by troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Conduct daily system monitoring to ensure hardware, server resources, and key processes function optimally.
- Review system and application logs, ensuring scheduled jobs (such as backups) are completed successfully.
2. System Maintenance & Upgrades
- Document and analyze technical specifications for system changes and projects.
- Test and implement system updates, enhancements, and security patches in compliance with the Change Management Policy.
- Perform system integration testing and assist with upgrades, hotfixes, and patch releases.
- Support system migration projects, including transitioning to new Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) systems.
3. Security, Backup & Data Management
- Ensure proper backup and recovery procedures are in place according to CRDB Bank’s IT Policies.
- Perform file archival and system purges as required.
- Monitor and maintain card management systems, ensuring seamless communication between the bank and third-party vendors.
4. Digital Banking & Alternative Channels Support
- Support Alternative Banking Channels, including mobile banking, internet banking, and e-fraud monitoring for card transactions.
- Collaborate with the Alternative Banking Channels unit to implement new card-based services.
- Participate in third-party integration projects that enhance digital banking services.
5. Cross-Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with various departments, branches, and external service providers.
- Ensure smooth integration with National, Regional, and International Switches.
- Engage in digital transformation initiatives, including Open Banking, API integrations, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Burundi citizen.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized university.
- ITIL v4 Certification (IT Service Management) is required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a banking IT environment, preferably in Digital Channels systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in backup and recovery processes, as well as business continuity planning.
- Knowledge of Oracle database management.
- Proficiency in Windows and UNIX (HP-UX, Linux) operating systems.
- Solid understanding of network technologies.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Open Banking, and Digital Channels (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Cards, etc.).
