Mwanga Hakika Bank Limited (MHB) is a fully-fledged commercial bank, proudly owned 100% by local Tanzanians. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our team in the following role.


Position: Senior Officer – Procurement and Administration

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive individual to support our Finance Department in procurement, cost control, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, timely asset maintenance, and compliance with budgetary constraints. This position requires strong procurement knowledge, financial acumen, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with various departments effectively.


Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Cost Management

  • Manage and oversee procurement processes, ensuring all purchases align with bank policies and budget guidelines.
  • Collaborate with department heads to source cost-effective goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Track expenditures and analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure value for money in all procurement activities.

2. Asset & Vehicle Management

  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of bank assets, ensuring proper tracking and timely maintenance.
  • Monitor vehicle conditions and coordinate necessary repairs and servicing to optimize performance.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies related to vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.

3. Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Finance Department, including documentation, scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on procurement, cost control, and asset management.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments to coordinate procurement and administrative needs.

4. Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of suppliers to ensure adherence to quality and service standards.
  • Oversee the inspection of received goods, ensuring they meet required specifications.

5. Budget Tracking & Reporting

  • Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets related to procurement and asset maintenance.
  • Track and report budget variances, offering recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and cost analysis summaries for management review.

6. Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all bank assets, equipment, and vehicles comply with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize operational disruptions.

7. Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and provide efficient solutions.
  • Address and resolve procurement-related issues professionally and promptly.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, budgeting, and cost management.
