About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Officer to join our team in Arusha, Tanzania. The ideal candidate will play a key role in industrial relations, employee management, compliance, and legal matters, ensuring a fair, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and advise on industrial relations policies to foster a positive work environment.
  • Work closely with the HR department and legal team on disciplinary matters, labor disputes, and employment policies.
  • Prepare and draft official HR documents, including promotions, terminations, and notifications.
  • Oversee employee relations, welfare programs, and workplace support initiatives.
  • Act as a mediator in workplace conflicts, dispute resolutions, and compliance matters.
  • Investigate and handle staff grievances, harassment claims, and discrimination cases.
  • Maintain cordial relationships with trade unions and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Oversee employee files, contracts, job descriptions, and documentation.
  • Manage leave records, attendance tracking, and performance appraisals.
  • Handle staff recruitment, training coordination, and benefits administration.
  • Serve as a key HR contact for legal and compliance matters at the regional level.
  • Generate monthly and annual HR reports on workforce management and employee trends.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or Social Sciences.
  • Minimum 8 years of HR experience in a labor-intensive and unionized environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Employee Relations management.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR) is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment relations, and compliance policies.
