Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Driver, you will be expected to:
- Safely transport the Ambassador, Embassy staff, and official visitors to various destinations.
- Ensure the security and well-being of all passengers while in the Embassy’s official vehicles.
- Manage vehicle-related administrative tasks, including arranging insurance and technical inspections.
- Maintain detailed records of mileage, fuel usage, and toll expenses.
- Utilize GPS and other traffic tools to optimize transportation efficiency.
- Assist in Embassy events by transporting and setting up equipment as needed.
- Handle daily mail collection and delivery, including the dispatch of diplomatic correspondence.
- Ensure all official vehicles are equipped with necessary supplies for long-distance trips.
- Supervise the transport team and report regularly to the Properties Management Officer.
- Facilitate staff travel for meetings, events, and assignments outside Dar es Salaam.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the Embassy’s operations.

Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and Kiswahili (a language proficiency test will be conducted).
- Experience: Extensive driving experience, including executive-level service.
- Driving License: Valid Class C license with an accident-free record for the last three years.
- Education: National Form VI Certificate.
- Technical Skills: Trade Test Grade II Certificate from VETA or a recognized institution.
- Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Tanzanian road regulations and laws, as well as the geography of Dar es Salaam and other regions.
- Security Awareness: Experience in security management and operational procedures.
- Administrative Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office for record-keeping and communication.
- Personal Attributes: High level of discretion, reliability, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Health & Legal Status: Medical clearance will be required. Candidates must have legal authorization to live and work in Tanzania before applying.
Employment Terms and Benefits
- Contract Type: Fixed-term employment at the Embassy of Ireland in Dar es Salaam.
- Working Hours: 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM).
- Salary: TSH 1,685,909 per month (equivalent to TSH 21,916,819 annually, including a 13th-month salary).
- Benefits: Health insurance and training opportunities.
- Payment Method: Salary is subject to tax deductions and will be deposited directly into the employee’s bank account.
