As we continue to expand, we are looking for a highly skilled cybersecurity specialist to ensure the security and integrity of our cloud-based systems. This role is critical in safeguarding M-Pesa’s digital infrastructure while supporting our vision of becoming the preferred digital payment method in Africa.

Role Overview: Senior Specialist – Cyber Security Cloud

As a Senior Cyber Security Cloud Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, confidentiality, and integrity of M-Pesa Africa’s cloud-based platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Huawei Cloud. Your expertise will help protect critical digital assets, prevent cyber threats, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Cloud Security Architecture – Design and implement robust cloud security solutions to safeguard M-Pesa’s infrastructure.
✔ Security & Privacy by Design Assurance (SPDA) – Oversee security assurance processes for cloud-based M-Pesa products and services.
✔ Risk Assessment & Threat Management – Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans.
✔ Identity & Access Management (IAM) – Enforce security policies and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to prevent unauthorized access.
✔ Incident Response & Mitigation – Monitor cloud environments, detect potential threats, and respond to security incidents.
✔ Compliance & Policy Enforcement – Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for cloud security.
✔ Collaboration & DevSecOps Integration – Work closely with developers and operations teams to embed security throughout the cloud development lifecycle.
✔ Continuous Improvement – Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

✅ Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

✅ Work Experience:

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years specializing in cloud security.

✅ Certifications (Preferred):

• Cloud Security: AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
• Cybersecurity: CISSP, CISM, or CEH certification is a plus.

✅ Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and cloud-native security solutions.
• Expertise in firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and SIEM solutions.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Python.
• Proficiency in cloud security best practices, monitoring, and logging.
