At WaterAid we believe in creating lasting change through which we are looking for Regional Climate Resilient WASH Advisor to join our working environment in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In this position you will play a crucial role in strengthening climate resilient WASH services across East Africa.

Your Role

As a Regional Climate Resilient WASH Advisor you will be required  to lead WaterAid climate change strategy in East Africa by ensuring impactful, inclusive and innovative WASH programs. In this position at WaterAid you will be required to provide expert technical guidance by collaborating with governments, NGOs and private sector partners in the implementation of sustainable solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Program Development and Implementation

• Strengthening climate resilience in WaterAid East Africa programs.
• You will be required to analyze climatic related trends and policies by guiding WASH programmes.
• You will be required to focus in climatic change and water security among staff and partners.
• You will be required to develop a five-year climatic resilient and WASH strategy

2. Technical and Operational Support

• You will be required to provide hands on guidance to the country teams and partner organizations.
• You will be required to identify knowledge gaps by enhancing capacity by using WaterAid approach.
• You will be required to represent WaterAid in key WASH and climate forums through sharing insights and best practices.
• You will be required to develop policy briefs and strategic materials so that to support advocacy efforts.

3. Advocacy and Policy Influence

• You will be required to drive strategies that integrate WASH into climate policies
• You will be required to work with governments and stakeholders to shape climate
• You will be required to contribute to the research, policy debates and global dialogues.

4. Sector Engagement and Networking

• You will be required to represent WaterAid in global and regional climate discussions.
• You will be required to strengthen partnerships with governments, donors and NGOs so that to expand impact.
• You will be required to advocate for policy shifts that prioritize climate

What You Need to Succeed

Essential Qualifications:

• Masters in Climate Change, Environmental Studies, Water Resource Management or Climate Financing.
• Candidate with ten years of working experience in climatic related programming at a senior level.
• Candidate with deep knowledge of WASH, water resource management and climate adaptation.
• Candidate with strong background in policy development, advocacy and funding strategies.
• Candidate with proven success in securing climate financing and writing donor proposals.
• Candidate with excellent networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Candidate with strong leadership, communication and strategic thinking abilities.
• Candidate who is Fluent in English language 

 Qualifications:

• Candidate with experience in influencing government policies on climate and WASH.
• Candidate with proven ability in driving climatic action at scale.
• Candidate with Innovative mindset and can develop new approaches to climate-resilient.
