This role is critical in ensuring efficient security operations across Dar es Salaam and its surrounding regions. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with contractual obligations, implementing company procedures, and leading security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee and coordinate all security operations in Dar es Salaam and supporting regions.
  • Conduct security surveys for both potential and existing clients and provide necessary recommendations.
  • Reconcile manpower allocation with actual assignments at the end of each month.
  • Manage staff leave and relief schedules to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure adherence to company security protocols in all assignments.

Resource & Equipment Management

  • Monitor and control the use of company vehicles and motorcycles to ensure efficiency.
  • Maintain discipline within the security team in coordination with the HR department.
  • Oversee the procurement and allocation of operational equipment while staying within budget limits.
  • Identify staff training needs and recommend development programs to enhance performance.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Identify high-risk areas and implement necessary security measures.
  • Ensure security risk assessments are completed and reviewed annually for all client sites.
  • Conduct monthly post assessments and toolbox talks for all uniformed security staff.
  • Maintain risk management registers, including HRIA (Human Rights Impact Assessments) and environmental compliance records.
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous substance safety standards and proper waste management documentation.
  • Upload necessary security and compliance documents onto SharePoint for proper record-keeping.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Address security concerns and report incidents to the Head of Security Operations.
  • Train and guide the security team to meet international security standards.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed efficiently as directed by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field; a qualification in commercial security and membership in a professional security body is an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a Security Services Manager in a commercial setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial security operations and integrated facilities management.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed financial and operational targets.
  • Experience in staff development, including mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Proficiency in ICT and security management software.
