ActionAid Tanzania (AATZ) is part of the ActionAid International Federation, a global organization committed to fighting poverty and social injustice. Since its establishment in 1998, AATZ has played a key role in empowering marginalized communities, particularly through advocacy and strategic partnerships.

As part of its ongoing efforts, AATZ is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the Bright Future Project, which focuses on promoting the rights and well-being of communities living with albinism.

Position Details

🔹 Job Title: Project Coordinator – Bright Future Project
🔹 Workstation: Dar es Salaam
🔹 Reports to: Program and Partnership Manager
🔹 Contract Duration: 24 months


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting of the Bright Future Project.
  • Advocacy & Policy Influence: Gather evidence and support advocacy efforts to influence policies benefiting communities with albinism.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop project tracking tools, monitor progress, and document outcomes for learning and impact assessment.
  • Financial Oversight: Work with the finance team to ensure efficient financial management and compliance with policies.
  • Resource Mobilization: Assist in developing funding proposals, networking with partners, and implementing fundraising strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen collaborations with government agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and communities.
  • Community Empowerment: Support movement-building initiatives to address challenges faced by people with albinism.
  • Capacity Development: Train project partners and young leaders on a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) to development.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or Project Management (Required)
✔ Master’s degree in a relevant field (Preferred)

Experience:

✔ Minimum 3 years in project management within the NGO/INGO sector
✔ Proven experience in policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and community mobilization

Technical Skills:

✔ Strong resource mobilization and proposal-writing skills
✔ Excellent communication, networking, and public relations abilities
✔ Experience working with CSOs, government agencies, and grassroots movements
✔ Knowledge of Human Rights-Based Approaches (HRBA) and social justice frameworks
✔ Proficiency in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks
