About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Assistant to join our team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role will support the Senior Officer, Administration, Logistics & Procurement in overseeing procurement processes, sourcing goods and services, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Vendor Management
✔ Implement procurement strategies to meet organizational needs.
✔ Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
✔ Conduct market research to identify cost-effective procurement opportunities.
✔ Manage purchase orders, contracts, and vendor documentation.
Compliance & Cost Efficiency
✔ Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and organizational policies.
✔ Identify and support cost-saving initiatives to improve efficiency.
✔ Assist in contract administration to ensure alignment with company standards.
Logistics & Operations
✔ Coordinate staff movements, flight bookings, and transportation logistics.
✔ Maintain accurate procurement records, including vendor files, contracts, and reports.
✔ Identify and mitigate potential risks in procurement processes.
Team Collaboration & Ethics
✔ Work closely with other teams to understand and fulfill procurement needs.
✔ Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices.
✔ Provide administrative support and handle additional procurement-related tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
✅ Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification in procurement (CIPS, PSPTB registration) is preferred (or in progress).
✅ Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably in NGOs or consulting.
- Experience with MS Dynamics or ERP systems powered by MS Dynamics is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
