Position: Preschool Teacher (with Scandinavian language skills)

Contract Duration: 2-year contract with the possibility of extension

The Opportunity
The Swedish School Society, also known as The Nordic School, offers daycare and afterschool activities based on Nordic pedagogical principles. Our key focus is on children’s right to play and the importance of play in their development. We believe childhood has intrinsic value and take a holistic, respectful approach to meet every child’s need for security, care, belonging, and respect.
Our diverse team includes teachers from Nordic countries and Tanzania. While English is the primary language of instruction, Scandinavian languages are also spoken. As a teacher at The Nordic School, you will work in an intercultural environment that fosters growth and development in children.
We are looking for a passionate, experienced teacher for our preschool, working with children aged 1 to 6. The role requires experience and enthusiasm for this age group. The position offers:

Qualifications and Experience
- Professional experience and a genuine interest in children’s development and well-being.
- Pedagogical Degree or equivalent academic qualification for working with young children.
- Excellent pedagogical, interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to contribute to pedagogical development and foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) and at least one Scandinavian language, preferably Norwegian or Swedish.
- Experience with second-language acquisition and multilingualism in early childhood is a plus.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment is considered an asset, enhancing your ability to engage with diverse children and colleagues.
