Key Responsibilities

✅ Ensure a safe working environment by attending mandatory safety courses, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and following all occupational health and safety policies.
✅ Conduct daily tyre inspections and monitor pressure levels on light vehicles.
✅ Perform tyre shop tasks, including changing, assembling, and stripping tyres for both surface and underground vehicles.
✅ Operate tyre handlers and service trucks to facilitate tyre changes.
✅ Maintain a clean and organized tyre shop environment.
✅ Ensure spare tyres are readily available in the workshop for quick replacements during breakdowns.
✅ Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) inspections in line with maintenance requirements.
✅ Provide timely feedback to the Maintenance First Line Leader on any equipment issues.
✅ Participate in training sessions to develop new skills and enhance your expertise.
✅ Conduct wheel balancing, alignment, and rotation as needed.
✅ Assist customers in selecting suitable tyre products based on their requirements.

Required Qualifications

✔️ VETA Trade Test Grade 1 & 2 in Mechanics
✔️ A valid Tanzania Driving License
✔️ Solid understanding of Mining Safety Regulations and Best Practices

Experience & Skills

🔹 2–3 years of maintenance experience, specifically in tyre handling
🔹 Hands-on experience in both open-cast and underground mining
🔹 Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for mobile components, gensets, light plants, and water pumps
🔹 Ability to read and interpret light vehicle diagrams
🔹 Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
🔹 Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
🔹 Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use improvement tools
