About the Role

Position: Junior HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Tanzania
Location: Dar es Salaam
Reports to: People Operations Manager

Job Overview

As a Junior HR Business Partner, you will play a critical role in managing daily HR operations across warehouses and field locations. Your responsibilities will include personnel management, employee engagement, recruitment, and compliance with labor laws. This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to support business growth through effective people management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR support for field and warehouse employees, addressing concerns related to leave, compensation, and workplace issues.
  • Manage and maintain the HR Information System (HRIS) to ensure accurate data entry and system functionality.
  • Lead the recruitment process for Field Representatives, Customer Service (CS) staff, Telesales teams, and Supervisors.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and coordinate training programs focused on company culture, labor policies, and compliance.
  • Collect and analyze HR metrics, such as time-to-hire and employee turnover rates, to drive informed decision-making.
  • Manage disciplinary procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor regulations.
  • Oversee key employee lifecycle processes, including hiring, terminations, and leave management.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including benefits, employment history, and contract details.
  • Assist the HR Manager in drafting employment statements and appointment contracts.
  • Implement and enforce HR policies, conducting orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Respond to employee and candidate inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and hiring procedures, escalating complex cases when necessary.
  • Manage payroll for field and outsourced employees, including Field Representatives, Fintech staff, delivery agents, warehouse workers, and interns.
  • Assist in correspondence related to the Labor Office, Immigration, NSSF, WCF, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Perform additional HR-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law (LLB), Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of human resource management experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address HR-related issues effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
