About the USAID “Tuhifadhi Chakula” Project
TAHA is currently implementing a five-year USAID-funded project known as USAID “Tuhifadhi Chakula.” This initiative focuses on reducing food loss and waste by improving post-harvest handling across key agricultural value chains. The project contributes significantly to Tanzania’s food security by:
✅ Enhancing food handling, storage, and value addition at both production and commercial levels.
✅ Facilitating market access to ensure agricultural products efficiently reach consumers.
✅ Promoting policy and regulatory reforms to minimize food loss and waste.
✅ Strengthening local organizations to lead post-harvest management efforts.
