BRAC is a globally recognized development organization that began its operations in Tanzania in 2006 by focusing on key areas such as agriculture, youth and women empowerment, food security and livelihood improvement.
The organization has been working in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation through which it has launched an initiative in 2022 that aimed at positively impacting 1.2 million adolescent girls and young women along with 9.5 million people across seven countries in East and West Africa. BRAC currently is working in various countries such as Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Uganda.
The organization have been working to address the urgent need so that to support adolescent girls and young women living in povert including working hard to solve other global challenges through implementing scalable economic development programs within communities. The organisation have been empowering young women so that to build sustainable livelihoods by ensuring they significantly amplify their voices and advocate their issues so that they can be solved.
