IT Manager – Africa Pension Fund (March 2025)

Position Overview
The IT Manager will oversee the management of our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and a secure environment for our systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all IT systems are reliable, secure, and fully optimized to meet the needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Infrastructure Management: Ensure the stability and efficiency of the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations.
- Data Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security protocols to protect sensitive data, such as pension fund details and client information, while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Continuously monitor IT systems, identifying potential issues early on and addressing them promptly to minimize downtime.
- IT Solutions Implementation: Collaborate with different departments to develop and implement IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support the organization’s strategic goals.
- Database Management: Oversee and optimize critical databases used for pension and asset management, ensuring data is accessible and accurate.
- Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery: Regularly back up critical data and test disaster recovery plans to ensure rapid response in the event of system failures, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Cybersecurity: Proactively monitor the IT environment for cybersecurity threats, implementing necessary measures to mitigate risks. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and make recommendations for security improvements.
- System Updates & Innovation: Plan and execute system upgrades, ensuring the company stays current with the latest technologies. Research and recommend new IT solutions that align with business objectives and long-term growth.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors to procure and maintain specialized IT services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality outcomes.

Candidate Experience Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management and cybersecurity.
- Proven experience in implementing IT solutions in the financial services sector.
- Proficiency in technologies such as MySQL, Python, PHP, JavaScript, Django, HTML, and Springboot.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, or AWS are highly desirable.
