Role: Internal Auditor
We are seeking an objective and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with governance and risk management processes. This role requires a strong understanding of audit procedures, risk mitigation, and internal controls to help drive financial and operational integrity within Wasoko.
The ideal candidate will have experience in complex organizations, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to provide independent, data-driven recommendations to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Risk Management
✔ Evaluate internal control procedures by examining reports, records, and operational practices.
✔ Identify risk factors and recommend strategies for risk mitigation and cost-saving initiatives.
✔ Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and financial best practices.
✔ Conduct follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
2. Financial & Operational Auditing
✔ Verify assets and liabilities by reconciling documentation with actual figures.
✔ Assess the efficiency of accounting and financial reporting systems.
✔ Analyze financial statements, operational processes, and key business workflows.
✔ Provide independent, objective advice to improve financial accountability and operational transparency.
3. Reporting & Advisory
✔ Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports with actionable insights.
✔ Document findings in audit workpapers and recommend strategic improvements.
✔ Collaborate with management to refine internal controls and strengthen governance frameworks.
4. Continuous Improvement & Learning
✔ Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
✔ Utilize advanced audit tools, data analytics, and risk assessment techniques.
✔ Support knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance internal compliance awareness.

Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Education & Certification:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
✔ Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification is required (MBA is a plus).
💡 Skills & Competencies:
✔ 5+ years of audit experience in a structured organization.
✔ Strong proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite, and accounting software.
✔ Ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets to generate insights.
✔ Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and independent judgment.
✔ Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings effectively.
✔ Willingness to travel regularly within Wasoko’s operational regions.
