Comprehensive Community-Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a leading provider of specialized healthcare services in Africa. As a healthcare social enterprise, CCBRT is dedicated to improving the lives of the most vulnerable through community development programs. The organization actively works to prevent lifelong disabilities and is extensively involved in maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC), including obstetric fistula repairs.
CCBRT’s Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
To strengthen our Internal Audit function, we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our team under the supervision of the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA).
Your Role
As an Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for supporting internal audit activities, evaluating internal controls, and ensuring compliance with financial and operational regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Review financial statements, transactions, and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and fraud detection.
- Test internal systems and processes for functionality and reliability.
- Analyze data to identify trends, inconsistencies, or anomalies.
- Verify financial records, account reconciliations, and inventory reports.
- Document audit findings, highlighting risks and areas for improvement, and prepare detailed reports.
- Support risk management initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant policies, IPSAS, IFRS, and industry standards.
- Provide administrative and analytical support to the Chief Internal Auditor.
- Assist in follow-up activities to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive company information.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and registered with NBAA.
- Experience: 1–3 years of audit experience (experience in the healthcare sector is an added advantage).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in auditing software, SQL, and Microsoft Office packages.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of auditing procedures, risk assessment, and compliance.
- Additional Advantage: Candidates with a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification will have an edge.
- Language: Fluency in both English and Swahili.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and report-writing skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
