If yes then Watu Credit Tanzania is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join our working team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This opportunity will offer an exciting opportunity that aim in ensuring compliance, improve processes and support to business success.

As sellected Internal Audit Manager you will work closely with the Watu Credit Tanzania Audit Committee Board and you will be required to report to the Group Head of Internal Audit in East Africa. Your primary responsibility at watu Credit will be to assess risks, implement control measures and ensuring the effectiveness of internal audit functions in Tanzania.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Internal Audit Leadership

• Developing and implementing an Internal Audit Charter so that to guide operations.
• Leading annual risk assessments and creating a risk-based audit plan.
• You will oversee professional development for audit staff and allocating resources effectively.
• Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, company policies and best practices.
• Conducting performance appraisals and ensuring continuous staff training.

Audit Planning and Execution

• Designing and executing risk-based audit plans that aligned with company strategy.
• Assessing the  financial reporting controls, governance and operational compliance.
• Providing detailed reports and recommendations so that to enhance risk management.
• Conducting special audits as needed through ensuring independence and objectivity.
• Offering advisory services so that to improve business processes and internal controls.

Risk Management and Compliance

• Evaluating the effectiveness of risk management frameworks.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to the international audit standards.
• Working with teams so that to establish risk mitigation strategies and cost-saving measures.
• Providing quarterly updates to the Board Audit and Risk Committee.

Data Analysis and Insights

• Leveraging data so that to improve on internal audit effectiveness.
• Using business insights so that to recommend operational improvements.
• Continuously refining data collection and analysis techniques.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Your success in this role at Watu Credit will be measured by the following:
✅ You have completed at least 85% of the approved audit plan.
✅ Issuing about 70% of audit reports on schedule.
✅ Identifying and implementing of cost-saving opportunities.
✅ Ensuring a robust compliance framework across the organization.
✅ Effectively managing resources and team performance.

What You Need to Succeed

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related.
• CPA certification is required.
• Additional certifications like CIA or CISA is added advantage.

Experience

• Five years of working experience in internal or external audit.
• Candidate with at least two years of experience in an audit committee reporting capacity.

Technical Skills

• You have Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
• You have experience in financial reporting and process optimization.
• You are proficiency in data analysis and audit tools.
• You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
