About World Renew Tanzania

World Renew Tanzania is a registered international NGO affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA). We collaborate with local partners and government councils across Geita, Shinyanga, Tabora, Mara, and Mwanza to implement programs focused on:

Food Security & Conservation Agriculture
Disaster Risk Reduction & Environmental Protection
Youth Empowerment & Livelihoods
Health & Literacy

Role Purpose

As an Intern-Program Officer, you will work closely with the Programs Coordinator (PC), Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, and project teams to:

✔ Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of community development projects.
✔ Assist in preparing project reports and tracking program progress.
✔ Coordinate meetings with project partners and stakeholders.
✔ Contribute to disaster response efforts and community engagement initiatives.

This role provides a unique learning opportunity to gain practical experience in program coordination, project management, and community outreach.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Leadership & Problem-Solving: Strong management skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Communication & Relationship-Building: Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and teams.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (QuickBooks is a plus).
Community Development Knowledge: Experience with participatory methods such as PRA, PLA, and Appreciative Inquiry is highly valued.


Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

  • Community Economic Development
  • Project Planning & Management
  • Business Administration
  • Cooperative Management
  • Rural Development

At least three years of experience in community development, focusing on:

  • Microfinance & Agricultural Economics
  • Cooperative Management
  • Community Health & Literacy

Language Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Kiswahili (written & spoken).


Work & Travel Requirements

✔ Ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time to rural project areas across Geita, Mara, Shinyanga, Tabora, Kagera, and Kigoma.
✔ Comfortable working in remote areas with limited access to facilities like running water and electricity.
