Job Summary
Dangote Cement is looking for a skilled and experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, calibrating, and integrating various plant instrumentation equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of plant equipment as per work orders.
  • Inspect, test, repair, clean, and calibrate instrumentation, including solid-state and microprocessor-based control equipment.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, and transmitters as needed.
  • Install control and measurement instruments on both existing and new plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair PLC control systems, frequency drives, and other electrical components, including minor programming tasks.
  • Adhere to plant safety, health, and environmental regulations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Section Head or Engineers.

Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should meet one of the following criteria:

  • Trade Test II with at least 16 years of relevant work experience.
  • Trade Test I with a minimum of 8 years of related job experience.
  • OND (Ordinary National Diploma) with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of phase testers, multimeters, meggers, and other testing tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal, networking, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in office productivity software.
