Job Overview

UONGOZI Institute is seeking a skilled and dedicated ICT Officer (System Administrator) to join its team. This role involves managing and maintaining ICT systems, troubleshooting technical challenges, and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization’s digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing ICT systems and tools to enhance efficiency.
• Support the analysis, design, and modification of computer information systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, workstations, file servers, and network cabling.
• Perform software installation, testing, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve computer system issues.
• Maintain and manage computer networks and personal computing infrastructure.
• Assess and optimize the operational performance of ICT systems.
• Implement network security measures, including user access management, backup plans, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Recommend and install system enhancements to improve network availability.
• Conduct routine maintenance according to institutional and vendor standards.
• Upgrade, troubleshoot, and configure ICT equipment, including disk drives, printers, and data acquisition boards.
• Ensure compliance by reviewing and renewing ICT-related site licenses.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the ICT field.

Remuneration

Attractive salary package under the UIC salary scale.
