Job Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a strategic advisor, partnering with specific business functions to align HR initiatives with organizational goals. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will drive key HR priorities such as talent development, performance management, employee engagement, and organizational change.

The HRBP will work closely with business leaders to design and implement people strategies that enhance workforce capabilities, foster a culture of excellence, and support overall business success.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Business Partnership (60%)

✔ Act as the primary HR contact for assigned business functions, providing expert advice on HR-related matters.
✔ Collaborate with business leaders to diagnose organizational challenges and develop effective People Plans aligned with company strategy.
✔ Lead the implementation of key HR initiatives, including performance development, talent management, resourcing, and employee engagement.
✔ Provide guidance on organizational change management, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
✔ Partner with leadership teams to enhance employee experience and build a culture of high performance and accountability.
✔ Coach and support managers in developing leadership capabilities, handling employee relations, and fostering an inclusive workplace.
✔ Drive compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and governance processes within the business unit.

2. Workforce Planning & Talent Development (30%)

✔ Develop and execute manpower plans to ensure optimal workforce allocation for business needs.
✔ Oversee talent acquisition efforts, ensuring the right talent is hired and retained.
✔ Support succession planning and career development initiatives within business units.
✔ Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to implement training programs, job rotations, and mentorship initiatives.
✔ Facilitate talent reviews and ensure follow-through on development plans to strengthen internal bench strength.

3. Operational HR Support (10%)

✔ Ensure adherence to company policies, labor laws, and HR governance frameworks.
✔ Provide HR data analytics and insights to support decision-making.
✔ Participate in cross-functional HR projects aimed at driving efficiency and business growth.
✔ Ensure seamless execution of performance reviews, compensation processes, and employee engagement activities.

Qualifications & Experience

🎓 Education & Background:
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
✔ Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

💡 Skills & Competencies:
✔ 5+ years of HR generalist or HR consultancy experience, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
✔ Strong expertise in talent management, organizational development, and change management.
✔ Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leaders.
✔ Excellent understanding of employment laws and HR best practices in Tanzania.
✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret HR data.
✔ Exceptional communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR management systems.
