About the Role
Médecins du Monde (MdM) is looking for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to oversee HR operations, ensure compliance with local labor laws, and support the organization’s workforce. This role requires expertise in HR management, legal compliance, and employee relations, as well as a proactive approach to developing HR policies and training programs.
📌 Reporting To:
- Hierarchical Link: Administrative & Logistics Coordinator
- Collaboration With: Finance Advisor, Managers, and Coordinators
Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Human Resources Management
✅ Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage the recruitment process, from candidate selection to conducting interviews and onboarding.
- Prepare induction plans and conduct HR briefings for new hires.
✅ Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Oversee probation evaluations and coordinate performance reviews.
- Manage employment contracts, renewals, and terminations while ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- Handle disciplinary cases, conflict resolution, and ensure fair procedures are followed.
✅ HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate HR records, including employee contracts and personnel files.
- Monitor employee attendance, leave balances, overtime, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labor laws and social security regulations.
- Liaise with legal advisors on employment matters, work permits, and residency applications for expatriates.
✅ Compensation & Benefits
- Conduct salary and benefits benchmarking to ensure competitiveness in the market.
- Evaluate inflation and the cost of living to support salary reviews.
✅ Training & Capacity Building
- Identify training needs and contribute to the development of a staff training plan.
- Lead internal HR training sessions on policies, benefits, and best practices.
2️⃣ Legal & Compliance Management
✅ Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure HR policies and procedures align with Tanzanian labor laws.
- Support in renewing licenses, permits, and agreements with relevant authorities.
✅ Legal Representation
- Act as the liaison between MdM and national/local authorities on legal and employment matters.
- Monitor legal changes affecting HR operations and suggest policy updates accordingly.
3️⃣ Representation & Communication
✅ Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent MdM in meetings with NGOs, partners, and government bodies.
- Contribute to the Mission’s Monthly Situation Report with relevant HR data.

Qualifications & Experience
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
✔ Minimum of 4 years of HR management experience (NGO or international organization experience is a plus).
✔ Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws, payroll processing, and HR best practices.
✔ Experience in recruitment, performance management, training, and conflict resolution.
Skills & Competencies

✔ Understanding of HR frameworks, labor laws, and employment regulations.
✔ Ability to analyze and interpret legal policies related to employment.
✔ Strong HR documentation, report writing, and policy drafting skills.
✔ Experience in stakeholder management and employee relations.

Compensation & Benefits
💰 Gross Salary: 2,546,563 TZS per month
🩺 Additional Benefits: Private Health Insurance
