About DRC
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting conflict-affected populations, including refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities. Since 1956, DRC has been active in over 40 countries, providing essential assistance in crisis situations.
In Tanzania, DRC has been operating since 2015, responding to the Burundi refugee crisis by managing projects in three refugee camps in the Kigoma Region. Our integrated programs focus on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Protection, Shelter & Infrastructure, and Economic Recovery.
As part of our mission, we are seeking a Human Resources & Admin Intern to provide administrative and logistical support while gaining practical experience in HR operations.
Role Overview
The HR & Admin Intern will assist in day-to-day administrative and human resources tasks, ensuring efficient office operations while developing essential HR skills. This role provides a unique opportunity to work within a humanitarian organization and gain hands-on experience in HR and administration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Staff Onboarding & Documentation
✔ Assist in introducing new employees to the office and helping them familiarize themselves with the workplace environment.
✔ Support in opening files for new hires and ensuring existing employee records are updated according to DRC’s checklist.
✔ Digitize employee records by scanning and storing documents in a secure softcopy system.
2. HR & Admin Support
✔ Organize and file HR-related documents, including supplier contracts and employee records.
✔ Assist the HR Officer in receiving and sorting invoices for payment processing.
✔ Help receive and maintain office supplies, ensuring proper inventory management.
✔ Support the distribution and organization of office materials and resources.
3. Office Management & Logistics
✔ Maintain storekeeping duties, ensuring the safety and availability of office supplies.
✔ Assist in general office tasks, including document sorting, filing, and administrative support.
✔ Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the HR team to support daily operations.

Qualifications & Competencies
🎓 Education:
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Public Administration from a recognized institution.
💡 Skills & Experience:
✔ Field training or internship experience in HR and administration.
✔ Good knowledge of human resources practices and administrative procedures.
✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
✔ Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
