Job Overview

UONGOZI Institute is seeking a qualified and experienced Human Resource and Administration Officer to join its team. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient HR operations and administrative support, contributing to the smooth functioning of the institute.

Key Responsibilities

As a Human Resource and Administration Officer, you will be responsible for:

  1. Recruitment & Selection:
    • Actively participating in hiring support staff and interns.
    • Sourcing candidates and preparing interview materials.
    • Compiling interview reports.
  2. Internship Management:
    • Overseeing intern onboarding, personal data records, and orientation.
    • Monitoring intern welfare, performance, attendance, and contracts.
  3. Outsourced Services Administration:
    • Preparing contract specifications and ensuring approvals.
    • Managing vendor payments and service certifications.
  4. Procurement & Office Administration:
    • Initiating and overseeing small-scale procurement processes.
  5. Compliance & Employee Welfare:
    • Updating staff on workplace ethics and statutory regulations.
    • Facilitating compliance with regulatory authorities.
  6. Employee Benefits & Payroll Support:
    • Processing staff loans, salary advances, and terminal benefits.
    • Managing employee medical checkups, health programs, and welfare activities.
  7. Leave & Attendance Management:
    • Planning and tracking employee leave and attendance records.
  8. Staff Engagement & Events:
    • Organizing internal meetings, sports activities, and workers’ councils.
  9. Facility & Property Management:
    • Overseeing office maintenance, including electrical systems, generators, fire safety, and security.
    • Managing Institute properties, vehicle fleets, and maintenance records.
  10. Administrative Support:
  • Handling office correspondence and clerical tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
    • Public Administration
    • Human Resources Management
    • Human Resources Planning & Management
    • Industrial Relations
    • Business Administration (majoring in Human Resources)
    • Or any related field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
