We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HSE Officer to join our team at the Nyanzaga site. This role presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to the expansion of Tanzania’s mining industry while ensuring workplace safety and compliance with industry best practices.
Position: HSE Officer
📍 Location: Nyanzaga Site, Tanzania
Key Responsibilities
✔ Training & Compliance: Educate and support management, supervisors, and employees on health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
✔ Risk Assessments & Safety Procedures: Conduct Job Safety Analyses, Competency-Based Assessments, and Continuous Risk Assessments to develop and implement Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOP).
✔ Incident Response & Reporting: Address hazard reports, emergency situations, and unsafe conditions to maintain a secure work environment.
✔ Medical & Health Monitoring: Coordinate pre-employment, periodic, and exit medical checks while managing compliance with OSHA/WIMS regulations.
✔ Chemical & Hazardous Materials Management: Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous substances, acting as the Hazardous Waste Disposal Officer for the site.
✔ Safety System Compliance: Maintain and align safety systems in accordance with ISO and industry standards to enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency.
✔ Hazard Tracking & Resolution: Monitor, document, and follow up on all reported hazards, ensuring effective resolution and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience
✅ Education & Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field (Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline).
- Completion of OSHA Basic Training is required.
✅ Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in the drilling or mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzania OSHA legislation and ISO safety standards is highly recommended.
✅ Key Skills & Competencies:
✔ Excellent Communication Skills – Fluency in English and Swahili (both written and verbal).
✔ Attention to Detail & Organizational Skills – Ability to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
✔ Proficiency in MS Office – Comfortable using Excel, Word, and other reporting tools.
✔ Interpersonal & Teamwork Abilities – Experience working in multinational and culturally diverse environments.
