FEMA Mining and Drilling Limited is looking for a Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Superintendent to join our growing team at the Buckreef Site Project. This position follows a 6-week on, 2-week off roster based in Katoro, Geita, Mwanza.

Role Overview
As an HME Superintendent, your primary responsibility is to maximize the availability and reliability of our mobile fleet by implementing effective maintenance strategies. You will oversee:
✔ Routine servicing and preventive maintenance
✔ Major and minor repairs
✔ Fleet commissioning and special projects
✔ Equipment reliability improvements
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance Planning
✔ Establish and maintain maintenance planning standards and policies.
✔ Lead weekly planning meetings with maintenance and operations teams.
✔ Train and mentor planners in work package preparation and maintenance planning functions.
✔ Coordinate external service providers for condition monitoring and outsourced maintenance.
✔ Optimize spare parts inventory to reduce reliance on urgent shipments.
✔ Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to analyze equipment performance and develop cost-effective solutions.
✔ Assist in budget development, ensuring a zero-based maintenance budget.
✔ Maintain meeting records, action lists, and progress reports.
✔ Develop succession plans for key maintenance planning roles.
Safety & Compliance
✔ Ensure all activities comply with company policies and industry best practices.
✔ Work with environmental and community relations teams to address compliance issues.
Training & Development
✔ Provide skills training and mentorship to site personnel.
✔ Develop and implement individual development plans.
✔ Foster a team-oriented environment with a focus on knowledge sharing.
Mobile Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
✔ Lead by example to promote best practices in equipment maintenance.
✔ Oversee maintenance of a diverse fleet of mining equipment and workshop infrastructure.
✔ Improve reliability through condition monitoring techniques.
✔ Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and recommend improvements.
✔ Develop tracking and reporting systems for key performance indicators (KPIs).
✔ Maintain a strategic plan for defect elimination and equipment reliability.
Cost Management & Efficiency
✔ Manage personnel, contractors, and resources cost-effectively.
✔ Oversee budget allocations and expenses for mobile fleet maintenance.
✔ Ensure timely adjustments to optimize cost efficiency.
Policy & Process Development
✔ Document all policies and maintenance strategies following industry best practices.
✔ Identify and implement process improvements for enhanced safety and productivity.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certification:
✔ Trade qualification in Diesel Fitting, Mechanical Trade, OR a Degree in Engineering.
Experience:
✔ 10+ years of experience in large-scale mining operations.
✔ 5+ years in senior maintenance planning roles.
✔ Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance for large mining operations.
✔ Expertise in equipment overhaul, repair programs, and budget coordination.
Technical & Practical Skills:
✔ Experience in mobile equipment maintenance.
✔ Proficiency in MS Office and MS Projects.
✔ Proven track record of reliability and process optimization.
