As we continue to expand, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Head of Procurement to drive our commercial strategy and help shape the future of procurement at Wasoko.


Role Overview

The Head of Procurement will be a key player in developing and executing Wasoko’s procurement strategy while driving business growth. This leadership role requires a commercially savvy professional with a strong background in logistics, technology, and business development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for revenue generation, supplier management, contract negotiations, and team leadership.


Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy & Market Analysis

✔ Develop and execute a procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
✔ Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify growth opportunities.
✔ Work with internal teams to align procurement with operational capabilities and business goals.

2. Business Development & Supplier Management

✔ Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the supply chain.
✔ Build strategic partnerships with suppliers, key clients, and industry stakeholders.
✔ Implement innovative procurement solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

3. Revenue Optimization & Performance Monitoring

✔ Develop pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
✔ Analyze sales performance data to identify areas for improvement and growth.
✔ Work closely with the sales team to achieve business targets.

4. Contract Negotiation & Risk Management

✔ Lead the negotiation of procurement contracts, ensuring favorable terms for Wasoko.
✔ Collaborate with legal teams to draft and review contracts.
✔ Maintain strong contractual relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.

5. Team Leadership & Departmental Coordination

✔ Build and lead a high-performing procurement team.
✔ Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure continuous development.
✔ Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the procurement department.
✔ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve company-wide goals.

Qualifications & Skills

🎓 Education & Experience
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
✔ Experience in E-commerce (B2C), FMCGs, or Telecom industries preferred.
✔ Prior experience in a startup environment is an added advantage.
