Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to lead and execute Wasoko’s procurement strategy. This leadership role requires a strong background in business development and a deep understanding of logistics and technology. The Head of Procurement will play a key role in driving revenue growth, nurturing client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Strategy and Planning:
  Develop and execute a procurement strategy that aligns with Wasoko’s business goals. Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to discover new opportunities for growth. Collaborate with other teams to ensure commercial strategies are in sync with operational capacities.
• Business Development:
  Lead efforts to identify and pursue new business opportunities. Establish strategic partnerships with key clients, suppliers, and industry players. Develop innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
• Revenue Generation:
  Create pricing strategies aimed at maximizing revenue and profitability. Track and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement. Work closely with the sales team to meet revenue targets and cultivate a high-performance culture.
• Contract Negotiation and Management:
  Take the lead in negotiating commercial agreements, ensuring favorable terms for Wasoko. Collaborate with legal teams to review, draft, and finalize contracts. Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and partners.
• Team Leadership:
  Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, providing mentorship and guidance. Promote a collaborative, results-driven culture within the department. Ensure strong communication and coordination with other departments to achieve company-wide objectives.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
• Experience in E-commerce B2C or traditional trade sectors (e.g., FMCGs, Telecom) is preferred.
• Experience in startup environments is a plus.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Tanzanian citizenship is required.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to drive results in a fast-paced setting.
