About the Role: General Manager (HR)

As General Manager (HR), you will play a key strategic role, working closely with the CEO to enhance organizational efficiency, oversee major cross-functional HR initiatives, and drive Alistair Group’s growth in Africa. You will lead HR operations across multiple countries, ensuring alignment between business objectives and human capital strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Organizational Growth

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on all HR-related matters.
  • Develop and execute human capital strategies that align with business goals.
  • Lead strategic initiatives that enhance workforce productivity and engagement.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between corporate vision and operational execution.

2. HR & Operational Excellence

  • Manage cross-functional HR projects to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement best HR practices across all business units.
  • Establish performance metrics and tracking mechanisms for continuous improvement.
  • Streamline communication and decision-making across departments.

3. Strategic Project Management

  • Oversee high-priority HR projects, from concept to implementation.
  • Collaborate with regional offices and operational teams to ensure success.
  • Develop and track comprehensive project management frameworks.
  • Support critical strategic initiatives related to logistics expansion in Africa.

4. Executive Support & Communication

  • Prepare executive reports and presentations for leadership.
  • Ensure smooth communication between senior management and teams.
  • Represent the CEO in key HR-related meetings and strategic discussions.

5. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies to support long-term business success.
  • Provide guidance on talent acquisition, workforce planning, and retention.
  • Cultivate a strong organizational culture that fosters employee engagement.
  • Design and implement career development and leadership programs.
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and employee relations to ensure a motivated workforce.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Finance, Logistics, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 8-12 years of progressive leadership experience in HR and business management.
  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple countries.
  • Strong track record of business unit management in corporate or entrepreneurial settings.
  • Extensive experience in African business environments.
  • Willingness to travel across Africa as needed.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: 7:20 AM – 4:20 PM
  • Alternate Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
