About the Location
Join us in the heart of one of the world’s most renowned wildlife reserves, where the Big Five—lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros—roam freely across vast, untamed landscapes. Located in Central Serengeti, amidst sweeping plains, the lodge is a 45-minute drive from the Seronera Airstrip, accessible via connecting flights from three major airports in Tanzania.
Opened in December 2012 as part of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts family, our lodge features 77 rooms, including 12 suites and 5 villas. Job Title: Engineering Technician
Basic Purpose
The Engineering Technician is responsible for servicing and repairing hotel equipment, including electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, gas, fire & safety systems, air conditioning, television, laundry, and kitchen equipment. The role requires a professional and courteous approach to resolving maintenance issues efficiently while adhering to Four Seasons’ policies and maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and maintain updated logs.
- Operate and maintain various plant systems, including generators, RO, and STP.
- Repair and maintain equipment such as motors, starters, breakers, chillers, and pumps throughout the property.
- Assist the Engineering Coordinator in managing spare parts and consumables inventory.
- Adhere to Four Seasons’ Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as outlined in EmPact.
- Collaborate professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests in rooms and public areas.
- Address emergency situations such as fires and power failures.
- Keep workstations, grease traps, and plumbing systems clean and well-maintained.
- Undertake special assignments and projects as directed.
- Uphold Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti’s high standards of professionalism and encourage team members to do the same.
- Wear the designated uniform and maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times.
- Punctually report to work and notify the supervisor in advance if unable to attend, as per the Employee Handbook.
- Familiarize yourself with the Four Seasons Health & Safety program, Lead with Care, and attend all mandatory training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Non-Essential Functions
- Assist with installing or relocating equipment as needed.
- Contribute to hotel energy conservation initiatives.
- Support the installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems for renovations, new outlets, and exhibits.

Knowledge and Skills
Education
- High school diploma, Trade or Vocational Certificate, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Minimum of two years in a related position at Four Seasons or a comparable organization.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong technical knowledge of general building maintenance and plant operations.
- Proficiency in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanics, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, and generator operations.
- Practical experience gained through on-the-job training or professional certifications.
- Ability to operate computer equipment.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English.
