As part of its continued growth, DCB is seeking a highly experienced Finance Director to join its senior management team. This role is critical in shaping the financial strategy of the bank, ensuring compliance, maximizing profitability, and mitigating risks. The Finance Director will report directly to the Managing Director and will oversee the bank’s financial operations, investment strategies, and fiscal management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and implement a robust financial strategy aligned with the bank’s long-term objectives.
    • Provide expert advice to senior management and the board on fiscal control, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial Reporting & Budgeting
    • Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports, budgets, and statements to support decision-making.
    • Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with national and international financial standards.
  • Asset & Risk Management
    • Maintain an up-to-date asset management policy and register to ensure proper tracking of the bank’s assets.
    • Develop risk management strategies to minimize financial risks and enhance investment returns.
  • Regulatory & Policy Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to banking financial policies, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
    • Maintain transparency and integrity in all financial dealings.
  • Investment & Treasury Management
    • Collaborate with relevant departments to optimize investment strategies while maintaining cost efficiency.
    • Manage treasury operations and ensure liquidity is maintained at all times.
  • Investor & Stakeholder Relations
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
    • Ensure effective communication of the bank’s financial health, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
    • Oversee the Finance, Business, and Data Analytics functions to drive data-driven financial decisions.
    • Implement strategic balance sheet and capital planning to align with government and financial institution requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
    • A postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSc in Finance, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Professional Certification:
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
    • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
    • Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial management role within a financial institution.
    • Strong background in financial and treasury management, preferably in Tanzania, with exposure to international financial systems.
  • Key Skills & Competencies:
    • Expertise in fiscal control, financial reporting, tax compliance, and investor relations.
    • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proficiency in financial software and banking systems.
