Your Role as a Volunteer

Are you passionate about financial management and eager to make a difference? As a Financial Management Advisor, you will use your expertise to mentor and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Tanzania under the SHARE project.

The SHARE project helps SMEs overcome barriers to business growth, especially in food production, natural resources, and agribusiness value chains. It provides financial mentorship, incubation programs, and access to shared technology to support startups and expand existing businesses. The project also prioritizes women- and youth-led enterprises, pairing them with skilled volunteers who offer management and entrepreneurial guidance.

This initiative is funded by Global Affairs Canada and operates in three key regions in Tanzania:
Mtwara/Lindi
Iringa/Njombe
Mwanza/Shinyanga

Your contribution will be essential in helping SMEs improve financial processes, scale their businesses, and enhance sustainability.

What You’ll Be Doing

Train SME staff on basic financial management and accounting principles.
Help develop budgeting and expenditure management systems for SMEs.
Coach and mentor SIDO (Small Industries Development Organization) staff to enhance their business support services.
Create financial tools and training materials to assist SMEs in improving their financial literacy and decision-making.
Establish strong mentor-mentee relationships with SMEs, guiding them in financial planning and business growth strategies.
