About the Role

As a Program Field Coordinator – Child Health and Nutrition, you will play a key role in implementing Vitamin A supplementation programs in Tanzania. Under the guidance of the Senior Program Officer – Child Survival and Women’s Health and Nutrition, you will oversee health initiatives aimed at combating Vitamin A deficiency and improving child health. Your work will ensure program effectiveness, sustainability, and alignment with national health strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop annual and quarterly work plans with implementing partners, ensuring alignment with program objectives and budgets.
  • Support the planning and execution of regional and council-level Vitamin A supplementation activities based on national guidelines.
  • Advocate for the integration of Vitamin A supplementation into routine healthcare services and broader health initiatives.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution of planned program activities.
  • Monitor the implementation of work plans, ensuring activities are carried out on time and within budget.
  • Facilitate the integration of Vitamin A supplementation into primary healthcare services, including immunization programs and maternal-child health initiatives.
  • Review and analyze reports from implementing partners, taking action to keep the program on track.
  • Organize regular coordination meetings with stakeholders to ensure high-quality, cost-effective implementation.
  • Strengthen community awareness about the importance of routine Vitamin A supplementation.
  • Collect and analyze program data to measure performance, compliance, reach, and impact.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports for internal stakeholders and donors, highlighting successes and challenges.

About You

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, or Health Sciences from a recognized institution.
  • Additional training in health commodities management and research methodologies is an advantage.
  • 3-5 years of experience in nutrition or public health programs, preferably in Vitamin A or micronutrient supplementation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple program components.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting for program performance evaluation.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
