About the Location

Join us in the heart of one of the world’s most renowned wildlife reserves, the Serengeti. Here, the iconic Big Five—lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros—roam freely across the vast, untamed landscape. Four Seasons Serengeti Lodge is uniquely positioned on elevated platforms and walkways, offering breathtaking views of an animal watering hole, where elephants often gather for their morning drink.

Located in Central Serengeti, our lodge is just a 45-minute drive from the Seronera Airstrip, accessible via connecting flights from three major airports in Tanzania. Opened in December 2012, our luxurious lodge features 77 beautifully designed rooms, including 12 suites and 5 villas. Guests can indulge in three exquisite dining venues, unwind at our Discovery Centre, explore the Kijana Kids Club, and relax in our spa’s six free-standing treatment pavilions. Join Our Team: Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished Head Chef with expertise in five-star hospitality, particularly in international cuisine such as French, Italian, and grill specialties.

In this role, you will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards in food quality, presentation, and service. Collaborating closely with the Food & Beverage Director, you will shape a culinary vision that emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and locally inspired dishes. This position requires strong leadership skills to mentor and develop a diverse kitchen team in a unique and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistency in food preparation and presentation at the highest level.
  • Develop innovative menus that consider ingredient availability, service costs, and guest preferences while aligning with the lodge’s pricing strategy.
  • Oversee food pricing decisions and ensure menus are effectively designed and distributed.
  • Manage employee work schedules, ensuring efficient operations within budget.
  • Supervise all aspects of food preparation, including portion sizes, cooking methods, garnishing, and presentation.
  • Coordinate the ordering of all kitchen supplies and equipment while maintaining quality standards and cost control.
  • Recruit, train, discipline, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and recommend promotions or salary adjustments as needed.
  • Lead team meetings and participate in company-wide discussions to align with Four Seasons’ standards.
  • Maintain a fair and supportive workplace to ensure high employee morale and low turnover rates.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director for special functions, ensuring seamless food preparation and presentation.
  • Uphold sanitation and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
  • Supervise the maintenance and hygiene of all food preparation equipment.
  • Implement safety measures to create a secure work environment for all staff.
  • Establish quality control systems to ensure consistency in food preparation and portioning.
  • Develop purchasing specifications to maintain high-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Regularly review and refine food presentations, adapting as needed to enhance guest experiences.
  • Work closely with the Executive Steward to oversee all stewarding department responsibilities.
  • Monitor the employee cafeteria, ensuring quality meals and a variety of menu options.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to secure top-quality ingredients at fair prices with timely deliveries.
