Job Title: Electrical Technician

Location: Mtwara, Tanzania

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team in Mtwara. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment while ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, maintain, and service electrical components, including motors, LV/MV switchgears, batteries, transformers, and cables.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Properly handle and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Keep daily records and update equipment logs.
  • Perform maintenance tasks as per work orders and maintenance notifications.
  • Update maintenance activities in SAP.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by senior personnel.

Qualifications & Experience

  • VETA certification, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the cement industry.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, testing, and maintaining motors, switchgears, batteries, transformers, and cables.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing instruments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical equipment.
  • Experience working with high-voltage equipment (up to 11KV).
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safety protocols.
