Position: Data Manager
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Data Manager to join our data team at MITU. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Data Manager and other team members to ensure that the data section effectively supports the implementation of MITU projects.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will hold a BSc in Computer Science or a related field, with a preference for those who have postgraduate training in clinical research data management. They should have proven expertise in database design and administration, experience in clinical data management within a research setting, and working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day data operations for assigned studies, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with the Senior Data Manager and study teams to establish study-specific data management plans.
- Enter and manage study data, including questionnaires and laboratory information.
- Develop and maintain clinical trial databases, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Update databases after verification of first and second entries.
- Raise, track, and resolve data queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and charging of electronic data collection devices (tablets/smartphones) used by field teams.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Senior Data Manager.
- Utilize various software applications for data entry and management.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Computer Science, IT, ICT, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Solid understanding of programming.
- Experience working with data management systems such as OpenClinica, OpenDataKit (ODK), or RedCap.
- Experience in health research data management.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and work independently.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel when required.
- Strong IT skills.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data management tools such as STATA or R.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in clinical research data management.
- Experience in data entry, management, and cleaning.
- Familiarity with electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
- Knowledge of mobile application development and programming.
- Interest in pursuing a career in data management.
