Job Title: Creative Reporter – Mwananchi (1 Position)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a talented and creative reporter to join our Mwananchi team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing engaging, thought-provoking, and innovative content that goes beyond traditional news reporting. This role requires strong storytelling skills, in-depth analysis, and the ability to incorporate multimedia elements to enhance audience engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Experience: 4-5 years of experience in journalism, feature writing, or a similar role.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and write compelling feature stories, human interest pieces, and in-depth reports.
• Use creative storytelling techniques to make news more engaging and relatable.
• Integrate multimedia elements such as photos, videos, and infographics to enhance storytelling.
• Conduct thorough interviews and background research to uncover unique and impactful stories.
• Identify emerging trends and topics to create fresh and relevant content.
• Ensure accuracy, credibility, and journalistic integrity in all published stories.
• Adapt content for digital platforms, including online articles and social media.
• Work closely with the digital team to maximize audience engagement and reach.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, and designers to create visually appealing content.
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute innovative story ideas.
• Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality reporting standards.
