The Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF) is a legally registered entity in Tanzania, established on March 4, 2008, under the Trustees Incorporation Act (CAP.318 R.E. 2002), with incorporation certificate No. 3352. It was created as a successor to the Cotton Development Fund (CDF), which originated under the Cotton Industry Act No. 2 of 2001. The fund was established following the collective vision of stakeholders within the cotton industry, formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 21, 2006.

CDTF is seeking a skilled Cotton Textile Coordinator to oversee the integration of fiber crops within the textile industry and promote sustainable cotton initiatives. This role involves managing the movement of cotton materials throughout the production chain and ensuring high-quality cotton fiber reaches manufacturing facilities efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Relevant work experience in the textile or cotton industry.
- Additional certifications related to cotton quality and sustainability will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in programs that promote sustainable cotton and fiber crop production.
- Work closely with departments such as spinning, weaving, and dyeing to streamline production processes.
- Conduct quality assessments on cotton bales to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Implement sustainable sourcing strategies, such as certified organic cotton or compliance with the Better Cotton Initiative.
- Monitor cotton procurement costs, assess quality trends, and track production performance.
- Maintain records of cotton acquisitions, inventory levels, and quality control data.
- Establish relationships with cotton suppliers to procure high-quality cotton at competitive prices.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Experience in product and apparel manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of garment construction.
- Understanding of crop production processes.
- Familiarity with different fabric types.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
