Branch Manager at DCB Commercial Bank PLC – February 2025
Position: Branch Manager
Background:
DCB Commercial Bank PLC is a well-established retail and commercial bank in Tanzania, dedicated to serving individuals, microfinance institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and large corporate clients. With a network of over eight branches, more than 1,000 DCB Wakala Agents, and access to over 280 Umoja Switch ATMs, the bank provides financial services to over three million customers nationwide.
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team as a Branch Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the branch’s overall budget, ensuring operations remain within approved limits, and driving the branch’s growth and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive workplace banking sales plan aligned with the retail and personal banking balance sheet and income statement.
- Drive portfolio growth by retaining existing customers and acquiring new ones, ensuring a quality asset and liability portfolio.
- Lead, develop, and manage the branch team to achieve business objectives, including revenue generation through increased non-funded and non-interest income and timely collection of interest.
- Implement and oversee the branch’s sales and customer experience strategies to position DCB Bank as a provider of top-tier financial solutions.
- Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Operations Officer to optimize costs through efficient resource management while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
- Build and sustain strong business relationships with clients, including High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), as well as other key stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with banking regulations, including guidelines from BoT, CMSA, TRA, DSE, and ELRA, while keeping the team informed and updated on relevant policies.
- Oversee the implementation of operational procedures as outlined in the branch operations manual.
- Effectively manage team performance in alignment with the bank’s strategic goals and policies.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or a Bachelor’s degree in any field combined with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in banking, either in business operations or management.
- Strong understanding of banking operations and back-office processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to drive performance and achieve business goals.
- Strong market sales ability, credit analysis expertise, and a successful track record in building and maintaining business relationships and networks.
